Another unique location for a beautiful sunset is along the coast of Hudson Bay near the town of Churchill, Manitoba, Canada - nicknamed "polar bear capital of the world"!
It is not without risk to photograph in this location, where the icy grip of winter takes hold of the land and seascape, and where snow can hide a sleeping polar bear or obscure slippery boulders along the water's edge.
But this day's efforts were to be rewarded with a stunning sunset. The sun slipped below a veil of dark clouds and shone bright on the coast of Hudson Bay and the Hudson Plains, before reaching...
... the horizon to disappear for another day.
Considered the largest bay in the world (if measured by shoreline) Hudson Bay is listed as part of the Arctic Ocean by the International Hydrographic Organization based in Monaco. During the winter months, Hudson Bay is mostly iced over with the coast being the first to begin freezing.

Large boulders, frozen after the first snow fall of winter, line the coast of Hudson Bay in Northern Manitoba, Canada, and glint in the beautiful light of sunset as it streams across the water and reaches the arctic shores.
