Clyde is a small historic town located in Central Otago on the South Island of New Zealand surrounded by hills. It sits at the end of the Cromwell Gorge. Throughout the town, you will find two general shops, a community hall, swimming pool, parks, museums, churches, accommodations and eating establishments.

Clyde is a town that became a well known place on the map in the 1800's during the gold rush and the first Europeans to enter into New Zealand settled here. Many of the older buildings still remain throughout the town such as a hotel, post office, council buildings and stone cottages.
