The Castillo de Loarre sits high on a crag above the village of Loarre where the rectangle keep and the church are surrounded by walls, round towers and the gateway into the castle. The castle was almost completely built during the 11th and 12th centuries and the outermost stone walls of the eight towers were erected in the 13th and 14th centuries.
The church and the castle have been the main issues of a number of overhauls because many of the walls and towers have collapsed. This Romanesque castle and its architecture was one of the finest in Aragon, Spain in Europe.
The path leading to the gateway of this historic castle opens into a world of impressive history and exploring for tourists that come to visit the Castillo de Loarre in Huesca, Aragon in Spain, Europe.
