The Cape Spear Lighthouse situated near St John's in Newfoundland has been restored to its original appearance.

share to Facebook Construction of the Cape Spear Lighthouse was completed by September 1836. The lighthouse was responsible for aiding mariners in and out of the St John's Harbour. Since being declared a National Historic Site, the Cape Spear Lighthouse and keepers residence have been restored to their original appearance of around the mid 1800's.

The Cape Spear lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland and is situated on the most Easterly stretch of land in North America near St John's in Newfoundland, Canada.
