During the winter months, the Gulf of St Lawrence is a mass of pack ice where female harp seal haul out each spring to give birth to their seal pups. These cute fluffy young animals display no fear of humans as they rest on the ice, at peace in their pristine white surroundings. Canada could promote Ecotours in the Atlantic regions to visit the harp seals, as a sustainable industry.
