These two bulls live in the Camargue, a triangular shaped river delta area between Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence, France where they love to roam in the marsh fields. The Camargue spreads across a region of about 140,000 hectares which includes salt flats, dunes, wetlands, marshes and pastures. This is where you will find the Camargue bulls grazing.
Camargue bulls are smaller in size than most other breeds and are raised in the Bouches du Rhone in Provence, France for their unique meat used by many gourmet chefs. Another use for these bulls, is a sport that the people of France call bull running dating back as far as the sixteenth century.
Sprouting from their head are horns which are easily visible against their black bodies and if needed, these horns on the bulls are used for protection and can be very dangerous. Other species of animals that visitors to the Camargue will be able to capture a picture of are, specialty breeds of horses and hundreds of species of birds. Most of this national nature reserve is open to the public, but there are certain areas which are restricted not only to cars but people as well.
