Dusk settles on the old Roman Amphitheatre, now the Piazza Anfiteatro in Lucca, a city in the Tuscany region of Italy, and the lights come on in the building. The Roman Amphitheatre dates back to 180 BC, but most of the buildings that still stand today were built during the 19th century by famous Lucca architect Lorenzo Nottolini, who cleared out the space and built the buildings around the outside on the original Roman foundations, which is why the area today still retains the original shape of the Amphitheatre.

Many of the buildings are either a bright yellow colour or a more subdued shade of brown such as this one here, which is characteristic of the nearby Siena province where most of the houses are in the brown family. Most buildings in the Piazza Anfiteatro are a brighter colour with window boxes decorating the outside. The buildings in the Piazza are a mixture of houses, cafes and restaurants.
