British Colombia is pure outdoor fun. Bordered by the Rockies to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West, BC is paradise for any skier, sailor, climber, or wine drinker. Here, the trees grow big and the salmon grow bigger. The wildlife is not hard to find. Bears, whales, and bald eagles are common sights in Canada's westernmost province. The Okanagan Valley boasts vineyards that have been producing Canadian wine for more than a hundred years.
You can't drive to BC's capital city from the rest of Canada, you'll have to fly, or maybe take a ferry. The city of Victoria is on Vancouver Island, the largest of many islands strung along the West coast of the province. North of Victoria, the town of Tofino is popular with surfers and sea-kayakers in the summer and storm watchers in the winter. Along the Pacific coast, the climate is mild though the mountains can boast severe winter storms.
