The Principality of Andorra is a little country (about half the size of New York City - 180 square miles) between France and Spain in Europe. Before 1999 when the 'euro' became the European currency, Andorra did not have its own monetary system, and would use the peseta of Spain or the French franc.
Andorra is technically not a full member of the European Union so many things are duty free. As Pas de la Casa is a border town to France the duty free stores are always busy.
