Photo of Bonavista Lighthouse in Newfoundland. The lighthouse was erected to guide ships around the Bonavista Peninsula. First lit in 1842, the actual lantern of the Bonavista Lighthouse originated from Scotland which was later replaced by another lantern which originated from a Scotland lighthouse in 1895. Bonavista Lighthouse has now been fully converted to electricity and fully automated. The original lightkeeper's living area has been restored to the 1870 period and guides in period dress help you to explore the qualities that make Bonavista Lighthouse so unique.
The Bonavista Lighthouse is located on Cape Bonavista of Newfoundland
