The blue boats moored in the harbour of Vernazza follow the many other vessels that have tied up, over the centuries, in this only real harbour of the Cinque Terre villages, along this lovely part of the Italian Riviera.
The five little villages of Cinque Terre in Liguria, Italy are Riomaggiore, to the east, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare. Vernazza is considered the prettiest of the five villages, and, because the harbour is used by the fishing fleet and for tourist excursions, the most affluent.
