Boyd's Cove was once a major community for the Beothuk Indian People between 1650 and 1720. An interpretation and Information Visitor Centre has now been installed at Boyd's Cove with exhibits of the Beothuk culture, history, artifacts, and way of life. The Beothuk Indians, as a result of European settlement, are now an extinct population.
