Following the road along the headlands to St Margarets Bay, the landscape becomes rugged and barren with beautiful smooth granite boulders dominating the scenery. At the road's end, is Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, a place of timeless magic that resonates the seafaring heritage and spirit of Nova Scotia.
Facing the elements of the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful stretch of rugged coastline, the current Peggy's Cove Lighthouse (officially named Peggy's Point Lighthouse) has stood watch over the entrance to St Margaret's Bay since 1914. The lighthouse itself is now fully automated and is managed/operated by the Canadian Coastguard, however, it also serves as Canada's only Post Office in a lighthouse.
A beautiful destination no...
... matter what time of the day, Peggy's Cove is a particularly mystical place to watch beautiful pastel colours hover on the horizon during sunset or to feel the refreshing Atlantic sea air brush against your face.
