Land sailing is something that is fairly new and is quickly becoming an interesting way to travel the sandy beaches of New Zealand. This man tries out land sailing along Orewa Beach on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand under sunny skies.
This type of sailing is easy to learn and makes exploring each New Zealand beach very adventurous. New Zealand has so many long stretches of coastline where there are miles of beach blanketed with sand and the only extra necessity needed is wind.
Land sailing is a relatively easy sport to master and is suitable for both adults and kids. The harder the wind is blowing, then the faster you can go and the kart is extremely easy to maneuver.
When you get into a land sailing...
... kart, be sure to buckle up and tighten up the leg straps. A helmet is a wise idea as well as eye protection due to the fact that sand can be blowing around if the winds are gusting. After buckling up, all you need to do while sailing the beach is steer with one hand and hold onto the sheet rope with the other.
The beach is not the only place that you can partake in land sailing as people are beginning to use them in car parks, sports events, recreation areas, cement areas such as tennis courts and they have also been been known to be used on ice. If traveling to New Zealand, be sure to try land sailing and experience the beach life from a different angle.
