Artists that visit Southern Labrador create a variety of artwork in different ways but these people that spent the day at the Pinware River Mouth made a driftwood and shell display on the beach. Five mussel shells create a pinwheel shape on either side of a piece of driftwood that was washed up along the beach.
In the backdrop, small tufts of sand rise above the flat spots on the beach and where the artwork lies in the foreground, the sand has slight ripples in it. At the Pinware River Mouth in Southern Labrador, you can walk for quite a distance along the waterfront where you can find a variety of items to make an artwork display.
The beach artwork created in this picture is something which anybody can do but the shells must be found first. That does not take too long as there are an assortment of shells found on the beach at the Pinware River Mouth but Mussel shells seem to be more common.
When visiting Pinware River Provincial Park while in Southern Labrador, be sure to head to the beach to enjoy the fresh air and the quietness of the area. Summers on this beach can become fairly busy as visitors come here to swim, suntan, picnic and stroll the beach with some that just come here to create artwork designs.
