The friendly town of Hecho in the province of Huesca, Aragon in Spain is not a very large place with only around 700 inhabitants, but it is still the biggest settlement in the Valle de Hecho. The little village of Siresa is just two kilometers north, an easy walk from Hecho.
The houses of Hecho in Aragon, are built of attractive stone, and the balconies protecting the windows are always decorated with pots of flowers which brighten the town whatever the weather. Some of the buildings are whitewashed and others, the richer homes, have lovely mosaic and stone courtyards.
Although Hecho, in Huesca, like the other Pyrenean villages, was founded centuries ago, the town visitors see today is only about 200 years old. During the Napoleonic wars Hecho was almost destroyed by a devastating fire, but it has been restored with an 'old' atmosphere.
Above the rooftops the steeple of the Iglesia Parroquial de San Martin de Hecho can be seen from the balcony windows. For the art lovers, to the west of the town, there is an open-air gallery featuring sculptures, and every third year, in July, Hecho, in Aragon, Spain holds a Festival Pir - a music festival. In the other two years the festival is held at close by Anso or Jaca in the Aragon Pyrenees.
House in the Village of Hecho backdropped by the Iglesia Parroquial de San Martin de Hecho church, Valle de Hecho, Huesca, Jacetania, Aragon, Spain, Europe.
