White plains and icy peaks are year-round realities for Northern climates, but don't let the stark landscape let you think there is no life to be found. In summer, some artifacts of the Arctic drift South in the form of towering icebergs. These massive pieces of ice break from Northern glaciers to float south on ocean currents to the coastal waters of Newfoundland and Labrador, bringing a taste of the arctic to those not willing or able to head North - far North - for a full Arctic experience.
