From the top of the cliff, one can look down 23 meters to the jade colored water which makes its way into Aladdin's Cave at Orakei Korako on the North Island of New Zealand. This cave is often referred to as Aladdin's Cave but other names include Ruatapu Cave, Sacred Cave or Waiwhakaata.
The pool at the bottom is a warm water pool where myths and legends date back many years, one being that if you put your left hand in the water and make a wish without telling anyone, the wish will come true. The Maori people once used the pool at the base of Aladdin's Cave as a place to clean themselves.
