share to Facebook Located 65 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay in an area known as the Lakehead, Ouimet Canyon in the provincial park of the same name, is a sheer walled canyon composed of volcanic rock.

It is said to have been created over millions of years, then gouged out by glaciers or the turbulent melt waters of glaciers. It continues to be shaped today by natural forces such as wind and rain.
